4. First Impression of each other? Was it love at first sight?
Honestly? It wasn’t love at first sight for Athena. She fell in love with Mason at first sight, and hard. He betrayed her, because he couldn’t sort out his feelings until it was too late. That doesn’t mean that she doesn’t love Levi. She does, immensely. But, she’d be lying if she didn’t think about how she had first locked eyes with Mason. He was insane, but it really was true love. I wonder if the guardians hadn’t come into her life, if she’d be with Mason after all. For Levi, it was love at first sight. He flirted openly with her (when he tried a move on Athena at her descendants’ house), and he knew from the moment that he saw her that he would give up his life for her. [It’s funny because the entire time I was writing gen 1, I was aiming for AthenaxLevi, but as I got farther into the story and I kept writing Mason, I realized that he really truly did love Athena and I can’t help but think that she really loved him too].
31. Do they finish each other’s sentences? Pick up any phrases or habits from each other? Know when the other is hiding something?
Yes, all the time! Apollo and Ethan are definitely in tune with what the other wants. Apollo finds himself quite often, saying things that he hears Ethan use, even if it’s something so ridiculous. This makes Ethan immensely happy, you have no idea. Ethan knows when Apollo’s hiding something, because he simply can’t lie. Apollo wears his emotions on his sleeve. Ethan does too when it comes to sadness, Apollo would know right away.
36. What’s their greatest strength as a couple? Their weakness?
Their strength is the ability to understand each other without words. They just know when the other is upset. Their weakness? Their love for each other. It causes them to sacrifice so much for each other, that it’s usually a game of coddling one person (usually Ethan doting on Apollo) and the relationship suffers when only one is gaining.
37. How much would they be willing to sacrifice for the other? Any lines they refuse to cross?
Every so often an unbreakable relationship comes along. Though Apollo seams weak, he would die for Ethan in a heartbeat if that’s what it took. And, we’ve already seen the lengths that Ethan will go for Apollo.
42. Do they let each other get away with things that would normally bother them?
This is what I’m talking about in question 36. Ethan will let Apollo literally do whatever he wants. He won’t reprimand him because he doesn’t want to lose him. Apollo on the other hand has no problem telling Ethan to cut it out because it’s annoying him.
Alistair and Declan:
7. What annoys them the most about their partner? Would they change it if they could?
Apollo hates that Declan babies Astra. There’s a clear favorite in the Gray household. It’s gotten better now that she’s left though. Declan hates that Alistair takes the job as keeper on his own. He usually doesn’t consult with Declan on those matters. Declan would change it, because he wants to be included in these drastic decisions.
8. What do they like best about their partner?
Alistair loves that Declan takes no nonsense. Sometimes Alistair can’t control Charlotte, and Declan will be the main source of discipline. But, also, in his past Declan has been nothing but the rock that Alistair needed to stabilize things.
35. Do they bring out the best in each other or the worst? Do they have a fatal flaw?
They bring out the best in each other. Alistair is confident and strong minded now because of Declan’s presence. Declan is much less of a jerk now because of Alistair. Everyone has a fatal flaw, and theirs is the set of twins they favor. Alistair shows favoritism towards the vampires, and because they share his DNA, Declan is more apt towards Millie and Astra.
37. How much would they be willing to sacrifice for the other? Any lines they refuse to cross?
Maybe this is cruel, but while they love each other, I think that there would be a line that they wouldn’t cross. There isn’t anyone that can take over Alistair’s position right now other than his dad, and I don’t know if he’d jump in front o f a bullet for Declan. I’d like to think he would, but I’d have to think more on this one :O
