AGW’s 3rd Anniversary! [I need your sims!]

It’s the 3rd anniversary of A Graying World! Can you believe three years ago I sat at my computer, nervous as heck, and penned a tale about time travel, deception and secrets? Ah man, what a journey it has been. Thanks for supporting me through it, and sticking with my blog and story! It means so much to me. ❤

 

Now, I know what you’re wondering…who are these people? I’ve never seen them before! Why not use a picture of sims we already know?

 

Jeff and Charlotte had a little too much fun on their honeymoon and got pregnant (again!) this time with twins. They’re both human females, which will be interesting to say the least. You’ll find out more in generation 6 😉  Below I am posting a short special I did with all of the heirs, and scroll down to the very bottom of that because I’m asking for sims! 

If you could travel to the future and say anything to the current heir…like, five generations down the line from you, what would it be?

“Oh, that’s an easy one. Never give up your sense of adventure for anything. It might seem easier to keep quiet and back down, but if you do that you’ll miss out on so much. Ask questions and if no one has an answer, find it. Because there is always one. Never compromise your beliefs to appease anyone. If I wasn’t so persistent with Emit, I would have never been able to meet Levi. I wouldn’t have the family that I do now. I wouldn’t have found out the truth about my mother. So, I guess what I’m saying is to seek the truth, and never give up for anyone or anything. You know what the right thing to do is, and everything else will fall into place.”

If you could travel to the future and say anything to the current heir of the Gray family, what would it be?

“I bet my mom would have said something good. I would say the most important thing to realize is that it’s okay to make mistakes. It’s okay to fall down and it’s okay to refuse someone’s help when they try to offer you a hand. If you want to pull yourself up, then go for it. I say, do things for your family. Make the sacrifices that you think is best in the long run. It may seem hard. Hell, it will be hard. It’ll be hard stepping away from everything you love in order to do the right thing. But, when you return there will always be someone welcoming you back. It hurts, it stays with you, it fills you with regret but…never shy away from a challenge. You are a Gray. You have tough shoes to fill, and do not for a second beat yourself up because you made a mistake. Get up, brush yourself off, and then do what you have to do.

If you could travel to the future and say anything to the current heir, what would it be? Spoiler alert, it’s your  great granddaughter.

“My great granddaughter? I better make it some good advice then. I don’t want her to have to struggle as much as I did. Being heir showed me two things, the importance of family and the importance of love. My name was never something that seemed like a huge deal to me, until I met my husband and he asked to take my name. It meat so much to him to be a Gray. My great granddaughter, you are a Gray. You are the future of our family. Do not take any of that for granted. We are here, do not hesitate to lean on us. And, find someone who will love you as much as you deserve to be loved. Find someone you can take this journey with. You are not alone. There will be someone brave enough and strong enough for you to rely on through the tough times. And knowing our family, there will be tough times. Find them, and never let them go.”

Now that Graciela is taking the torch and heading the Grays into their sixth generation, do you have any advice?

“For Gracie? Of course. You know all I do is spout wisdom at people, as ancient as I am. Jokes aside…I don’t know if I’m the best example she could be following. If I were here, I’d listen to what her parents have to say. Never ever take them for granted. When I lost my dad, I was devastated…I mean, I got him back but that’s beside the point. I was lost. To this day, I still rely on my father. If your parents tell you something Sweetheart, listen to it. They have been through so much more than you have. They know what they’re talking about.”

And what about in the love department?

“Do yourself a favor and definitely don’t follow my example in that department. All I can say is that you love who you love, and that’s it. T This is something you’ll have to find out for yourself in due time. Though, I have a feeling the person waiting for you has been there for a long time.”

You were the first set of double heiresses. Now that the torch is being passed down to Graciela, what advice to you have for her?

“Me first, save her mother for last. I bet Char has some brilliant advice for Graciela, and I don’t want to have to follow that one. Okay, I know I’m not the best Aunt in the world. I know that I have made a lot of mistakes, and will probably continue to do so. Nobody is perfect, remember that. But also remember that it’s important to own up to your mistakes. Do not do what I did and make a mistake and live my life blaming the other person. I wasted so much of my life in a state of anger and regret. Never do that. Things happen for a reason, I truly believe that. You’re a beautiful and strong girl like your mother, you will be a great ambassador for our name. Don’t you worry about it. You have your mother to fall back on, me if you want my help, everyone. We adore you.”

 

Charlotte?

“I’m already crying. Graciela, you are my beautiful princess. I think you got the best of me and your dad. His beautiful hair color and my attitude. My advice to you, is that you have to find your voice. Overcome your fears. There is a fierce, strong and determined girl underneath that frightened child hiding from the darkness. Do not let it win. You are better than this. I will do everything I can to protect you. Use me, I am your resource. Your father and I would give up our lives for you. You know that, you just have to ask and we’ll be there. Your siblings, don’t forget about them either. You’re lucky to have an abundance of them They will not hesitate to help you in a time of need. Band together, what makes us so special is that we are a family and will persevere as one. Wear your name proudly.”

Graciela, now that you have all of this advice, what do you plan to do with it?

“Memorize it. Repeat it to myself over and over again. Most importantly, follow it. I should never settle for lies, and demand the truth. It’s okay to make mistakes and sometimes I’ll have to make tough decisions even if it’ll be hard. I have to value my family, and find someone who will travel this journey with me. Grandpa Al said to listen to my parents, always. My Aunt Astra told me to own up to my mistakes and my mother told me to overcome what’s holding me back and not be afraid to rely on my family if I need to. Being a Gray is tough work. I am afraid of the responsibility, but I will take this torch and do what I have to do. I will pass this advice down to my child and tell them to pass it on to theirs, for generations to come.”

Next gen of  A Graying World is approaching and fast. if you recall, I posted a drabble a while back with Pandora, which you can read here. She will be central to at least part of the story. But, she’s outgrown her husband, literally Being a time traveler, she’s stopped aging. Her own daughter is much older than she is now and Allen is an Elder, if not dead. She is lonely… That’s where YOU come in.

 

Pandora Gray is a sim from the main branch of the Grays born to Apollo and Ethan. She is a time traveler who has worked closely with both Mason and Emit. She will be working with Audric as a teacher in his new school (more info in the upcoming chapter) to teach young and viable individuals to be travelers.

Bio: 

Your sim must not know anything about dimensions. They can’t be time travelers, etc. It just gets too complicated. I’m looking for 5 regular guys who are the best at what they do. So, if your sim is the athletics coach they have to have shown incredible progress in that field somehow or another. Audric will be picking unknowing subjects from all over his dimension to be part of his program. Each guy will have been approached by Audric and have accepted the offer, so tell me what they’re leaving behind if anything and why they want to help him. Good answers: To save the world. Getting bored. Wanted to try something new. Why not? Idk, be creative. They can have kids at home, Pandora would be totally cool with that. She’s been alive for a century at least, she’s mature. Keep in mind: your sim will be teaching a bunch of teenagers their assigned subject matter! There will be scenes where they are interacting with students. [They don’t have to be a teacher of any kind in their regular lives!]

 

Requirements: You must be caught up on gen 5 of AGW, at least for the most part. This is crucial, as the story will be posted on WordPress only and NOT on here at all. By allowing me to use your sim, you give me full creativity to write what I want for your characters (anything huge will obviously be discussed with you prior).

• Male Sims only to be eligible for Pandora’s heart. (If you want your sim to simply be part of the story, you can have any extra spots for female sims to break it up a bit. But first 5 must be male).
• Berry, Banilla or Vanilla welcome.
• Supernaturals, real or made up are welcome. Please keep it lore friendly, ask me any and all questions 😛
• NO SLIDERS. Please no slider sims. They act wonky in my game, and don’t come out looking right.
• CC is cool. Don’t overdo it though, my game is slow as it is lol
• Futuristic attire like Pandora is not required, but very cool. Keep it to your sim’s personality. Dress all outfits, because they’ll be living in the “dorms”
• I have all EPs, Sweet Treats, HELS, Town Stuff, 70s 80s 90s and all worlds.

Other stuff: Your sim will not die in any way, unless I see fit. But then we’ll discuss it. My BCs are highly narrative and in this case, gen 6 is split up into various story arcs so it will not be a straight run through. Chapters will be broken up between Pandora’s. I’ll be doing BC challenges for the first few teachers, but the final 3 will get a spouse vote. If they get voted off, I’ll still be using them in class to teach. it just means that Pandora will lose any romantic interest in them. As always, get creative with your sims!

 

AGW Stats:

 Both the teaser and first chapter were posted on April 22, 2014.

 

Up to date, the current amount of full chapters I’ve posted is about 221, not including special chapters like Emit’s back story. Generation 1 spans 32 chapters, generation 2 spans 38 chapters, generation 3: 40 chapters, generation 4: 30 chapters and generation 5: a whopping 81 chapters and counting!

 

My earlier chapters were in the 1,000 word range, but after that I began posting chapters in the 1,500 word range and currently the word count falls between 1700-2500 per chapter. So, a quick estimation tells me that I’ve written about 400,000 words total, not including drabbles, specials etc.

 

Drabbles are a new thing I’ve been posting on my WP blog, from the ones I’ve written here. So, for the Grays I have about 50 drabbles posted, and more I haven’t transferred over. They range from 400-1,500 words (but mostly in the middle at 700 ish I think) which is another 35,000+ words.

 

So, uh…I guess I’m, just proud of how much I’ve put into this story. It’s grown so much!

 

Special shout out to @dandylion240 who has literally been here since the beginning of the legacy, and whose story’s lore crosses over into mine. Without her, this legacy would not be what it is today, so thank you very much Debbie! Checkout her stuff if you haven’t already, because she has a couple of Grays and a reaaaallly good storyline!
